Are you tired of the diet roller coaster ride? If you are like most of us then you have tried numerous diets throughout your lifetime. I know people that have spent most of their lives in search of the perfect diet. In their search they have gone on a diet for a month or so losing 20 or even 30 pounds only to put it all back within a short period of time. I think of this as the diet roller coaster ride. First you go down 20 or 30 pounds and then back up 30 or 40.
Studies have shown that this roller coaster ride is not only frustrating but can actually be damaging to your health. When we diet we give up something. Sure, we give up the fat, dairy products, carbohydrates or sugar but we also give up things that are vital to good health. If you carefully study the effects of most diets you will find that we also give up vital minerals and nutrients. DietPleasure monitors the minerals and nutrients consumed from almost all foods.
The problem with most diets is that you give up something and your body knows it. I feel that a craving is your body's way of telling you that it is missing something that it needs. No, I didn't say that a craving is your body's way of telling you that it is missing something that it wants. I think that your body senses the deprivation and then sends a signal to your brain and then you develop a craving. And once that craving hits it is generally all over.
What we need is a way to lose weight that doesn't involve cravings. This way we can lose as much weight as we need. Sure, there are pills and other forms of medication that claim to do this but generally speaking they bring with them their own set of problems. I know that any solution to this problem sounds like a miracle but it's not. There is a natural way to lose weight that doesn't involve cravings that isn't a miracle! I know this because I have tried it and it works!
The first step is to take a nice long look at our current situation. Take a careful look at your eating habits and the amount of exercise that you perform each day. What you will generally find is that we eat and possibly overeat fast foods and/or snack foods everyday. Then you will find that most of us do little if any exercise everyday. I know that you think that you know where I am going, but you don't. This will pleasantly surprise you. No, I am not going to ask you to give up all of the good things (fast foods and snack foods) nor am I going to ask you to become a marathon runner.
The next step is to try to prepare your meals during the weekdays. I know that this is not necessarily practical everyday of the week for everyone but if you really want to you can do this. And this is really the point. We make compromises in all other aspects of our lives to get something done but this is the one area that most of us come up short. I work in an office surrounded by people that use to go out for lunch everyday. For sometime now I have been bringing my lunch. I have started to notice that more and more of the people that work with me are also bringing their lunch. When I bring my lunch it is much easier for me to get a handle on what I am actually eating. I can run this through DietPleasure and it will tell me the exact amount of calories and nutrients that I've consumed. During the week I generally eat nutritious meals that are low in fat. I am not following any particular diet. I just try to monitor what I eat throughout the weekdays. Now, the weekends are a totally different story. I go wild! Just kidding. On the weekends I generally eat the things that I wanted during the week. I will have my burgers, pizza, beer and all of the other good things. I generally don't go overboard but I do enjoy myself.
The next and final step is to include some light exercise in your daily routine. I have often felt that exercise is the true Fountain of Youth. It is a well know fact that exercise helps eliminate stress, it helps increase your circulation, it helps prevent diabetes, it helps prevent heart disease and etc. The list is almost endless and from what I hear it is growing everyday. As I said earlier, you don't have to run a marathon to exercise. Short evening walks can do miracles. You will not only lose weight but walking will make you feel and sleep better as well.
Thank of it this way, if a little fat from your diet every weekday and you burn a few calories by walking you will lose weight. No, it may not be as fast as you would like but it will be permanent. This will require a Lifestyle Change. There will be no cravings and in fact you may even feel better. Most of us eat poorly seven days of the week and then come home and watch television for four hours before going to bed. If you fall into that category then you need a Lifestyle Change.
